Yes, there is definitely a fine line between genuine and braggy. Thank you for your insight Maggie! It’s always nice to hear things from a reader’s point of view. I agree that you can always tell when someone is just trying to impress people. I’ll definitely steer clear of that. 😉

“My kids and I spent the morning baking cookies for the old folks at the Community Center.” this sentence is good. Now I will say that some thing but make it braggy and obnoxious to read:
“My amazing kids and I spent the morning baking cookies for the old folks at the Community Center. We try and do this at least once a month.”

I know that I have stopped reading blogs where I feel like the writer is trying to impress people. If you are a genuine person and a person with good motives, as readers we can sense it and be devoted followers.
I do not find anything braggy in your posts and I find you to be a very genuine writer. Keep it up!!

I agree that there is far too much negative in this world. That being said, I think you be positive in such a way that you are not bragging about how wonderful your life is. I have a friend that is very positive, but she also likes everyone to know all the wonderful things she is doing, ALL THE TIME! I think it’s great that people are trying to do their best, but not to the point that you just make others feel like they aren’t enough. Does that make sense? Positive is definitely best, but humble with positive is even BETTER!
