Angry Birds Waffles

Those who have been following along with me for awhile now  (thank you) know that we have a slight obsession with Angry Birds.  Last night my boys begged for a cousin sleepover and what is the perfect breakfast for a group of hungry little boys?  Angry Birds waffles! […]

Cheeseburger Soup

I have a nightly battle that goes on at my house.  I have two picky eaters and one who will eat pretty much anything.  I love trying new recipes but I hate hearing terms like, “gross” , “what is that?”, “I’m not eating that.”.  (Is it just me????  Please say it is not just me!)  So when I came across a recipe for Cheeseburger soup, I knew I had to give it a try. Chocolate Chip Angel Cookies

Those who know me know that the way to my heart comes in the form of cookies and these Chocolate Chip Angel Cookies are my favorite chocolate chip cookie of all time. Chocolate Chip Angel Cookies When it comes to will-power, I consider myself a pretty strong person.  I try to eat healthy, exercise and take care of myself but I have one weakness.  Superman had Kryptonite, I have cookies!  I can go forever without eating sweets or junk food unless those sweets happen to be a cookie in any form.    Chocolate?…Nah, Chips?…Maybe,  But chocolate chip cookies?  Yes please, every time. Why You Will Never Buy Finger Paint Again

Why you will never buy finger paint again Some people consider me crazy when it comes to the types of activities I let my kids do.  For example, Play-doh is a must-have at our house although I know lots of moms that don’t allow it (hello, it entertains for hours!!  And all I have to do is sweep up the floor when they’re done) and all of my boys have gone through a stage where they could have lived in a dirt pile.  So painting with our hands using finger paint is really no big deal around here as long as it is contained to the kitchen. I always loved finger paint as a kid.  There is just something about that squishy goo between your fingers and being able to create something with your hands.  Loved it! Anytime I can make something for less than I can buy it I get excited and plus living in a small town makes it hard to find certain things.  So, when I came across an easy recipe for finger paint in a family cookbook I knew we had to give it a try,  This recipe is so easy that you will never buy finger paint again! Strawberry Shortcake Quick Pops

You know I’ve mentioned it before, but that Santa just really knows exactly what our family needs for Christmas.  He always seems to find the perfect, fun gift that mom, dad and the boys can enjoy and this year was no exception. This year Santa brought us the Zoku Quick Pop Maker that actually makes ice cream or juice pops in just minutes.  So maybe this isn’t an actual NEED but during our hot summer days this is going to feel more like a need than a want. 🙂  And when you need a cold treat, you NEED a cold treat now.  Not 9 hours from now which is how long we normally would wait with our old plastic pop maker. So, imagine my delight when we opened our family present from Santa and found not only the Zoku Quick Pop Maker but also the Zoku Quick Pops Recipe Book with all sort of yummy creations in it. My 4-year-old has been begging for the Strawberry Shortcake Pops he found in the recipe book so today we had time to spare and gave them a try.  And they did NOT disappoint! WARNING: If you continue to read this post, you just might break any New Year’s resolutions that you have regarding weight loss or healthy eating.  I will not be held responsible.  You have been warned!!  😉 Strawberry Shortcake Quick Pops (This recipe is adapted with a few variations from the Zoku Quick Pops Recipe Book.  It was designed to go with the ZOKU maker but could be made in a regular popsicle mold placed in the freezer.) Ingredients: […]

Country Raisin Gingersnaps

The Best Holiday Cookies Ever! This week I have the awesome opportunity to be part of an online cookie exchange thanks to the SITS girls so I chose to share my absolute favorite cookie recipe, Country Raisin Gingersnaps.   I make lots and lots of cookies and I have probably tried a hundred or so different recipes over the years but these have always been my favorite. The only problem with them is I’ve been eating them NON-STOP since I made them. They are  full of yummy spices that make these the perfect holiday cookie and the best part is they are SOFT gingersnaps.  Yummy!  My boys don’t normally like things with raisins but they love these cookies! MMMmmmmmm……Just looking at that picture makes me want another.  (I won’t eat another cookie, I won’t eat another cookie…) […]
