Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
Lightly grease two donut pans.
Beat together the oil, eggs, 1 1/2 cups sugar, pumpkin, 1 1/2 tsp pumpkin pie spice, and baking powder until smooth.
Add the flour and stir just until smooth.
Fill the weels of the donut pans about 3/4 full.
Bake the donuts for 15-18 mins or until they are lightly browned.
Remove the donuts from the oven, and after about 5 minutest transfer them to a rack to cool.
Microwave butter until melted.
In a separate bowl combine 1 cup sugar and 1 tsp pumpkin pie spice.
Roll donuts in butter and then toss in sugar/spice mixture.
Let cool or enjoy warm.
