Fast and Easy Glazed Donuts

Ingredients

Instructions

  • We headed out to Walmart to purchase our Pillsbury Grands!® Homestyle biscuits.

  • My boys have to take turns popping open the cans.  Once the can was open, we spread them out on a cutting board and cut out a donut hole using a round biscuit cutter.  This was one of their favorite jobs!

  • While my boys were cutting the biscuits, I heated some oil in a pan until it was nice and hot. (Be really diligent and don’t leave the hot oil alone, especially if your children are in the kitchen!)  Once the oil was hot, we fried the donuts on both sides.

  • While they were cooking, I made a quick glaze by mixing 2 cups of powdered sugar, 1 1/2 tsp of vanilla and 3-4 tbls of water.  You can adjust the amounts depending on how many donuts you are making.

  • Once the donuts are cooked through and browned on both sides, remove them from the oil and let excess oil drip off.  Add them to the glaze and coat on both sides.

  • I then place the donuts on a cooling rack that has been placed over a cookie sheet for easy cleanup.  If you want to add sprinkles, do it right away because the glaze hardens very quickly.

  • Then enjoy!  My boys ask to make these glazed donuts all of the time and they are especially fun to make over the holidays when family is in town.  I love that Pillsbury  Grands!® make it so easy to continue a tradition from my childhood with my own children.
