In reply to Joanne. I just set the haunted house right on the cake and didn't have any problems. I did a sheet cake so it wouldn't have sunk very far anyways, but I didn't have any problem with it sinking into the cake.

I am doing this for a Halloween party in a few days. When you put the assembled house on the cake, did it sit on a piece of cardboard or did you just lay the house directly on the iced cake? Did the house sink into the cake a lot? I’m afraid the bottom inch of the house won’t show. Thanks in advance for any tips. My kids and I are very excited to put this all together!
