Those who know me know that the way to my heart comes in the form of cookies and these Chocolate Chip Angel Cookies are my favorite chocolate chip cookie of all time.
Chocolate Chip Angel Cookies
When it comes to will-power, I consider myself a pretty strong person. I try to eat healthy, exercise and take care of myself but I have one weakness. Superman had Kryptonite, I have cookies! I can go forever without eating sweets or junk food unless those sweets happen to be a cookie in any form. Chocolate?…Nah, Chips?…Maybe, But chocolate chip cookies? Yes please, every time.
In fact I was doing great on my New Year’s resolutions until those just-too-cute girl scouts showed up with their boxes of yummy goodness. How can you resist those? Even though I put them on the highest shelf in the pantry, they sat up there an mocked me and tricked me into having just one, which turned into two, three and maybe even four. I’m in denial!
Maybe this all started because my mom makes some of the best cookies ever and taught me to bake cookies when I was probably around 5 years old and I’ve been baking cookies ever since.
And this recipe will not disappoint! I love all types of chocolate chip cookies but these ones are one of my most talked about and requested recipe I have.
Is your mouth watering yet? These chocolate chip cookies are made slightly different than others and are rolled in sugar at the end to make them even more yummy. Yes, I realize the recipe calls for butter AND shortening so these are not the most healthy thing to eat, but we all deserve a guilty pleasure every once in awhile right?

My boys love getting involved in the kitchen so I try to find recipes and meals that they can help with. Even my 4-year-old can get involved in rolling these in balls and in the sugar. Next time you are in need of a yummy cookie recipe, give these a try. And if you ask nicely I might just bring you these for your next birthday. 😉

Thanks for this recipe. I lived in a small town growing up and the local bakery sold a cookie called Chocolate Chip Angel Cookies (my fav). I am hoping this recipe is similar, if not the same. There was something different about them and I think it was the cream of tarter.
My sister makes these and makes them into sandwich cookies. They taste like cake mix cookies but are so much better 😋
