Ice Cream Cone Cupcakes
Since yesterday was the “official” birthday of my little man I decided to make him something fun, even though we’ve been partying all month long. I remembered having ice cream cone cupcakes as a kid and loved them!
They were actually just as easy as making cupcakes. All you need is your favorite cake mix, a box of ice cream cones, frosting and sprinkles (if desired, but who wouldn’t want sprinkles?)
1-Mix up the batter according to directions on the box, or use your favorite homemade recipe.
2- Put the cones into a muffin pan or something similar to help them stand up. I used a muffin pan.
3-Fill the cones until just above the first ring (see pic below)
4-Bake at 350° for 20-25 mins. Check and 20 mins. Cupcakes are done when a toothpick can be inserted and removed without any cupcake goop on it.
5- Wait to cool and then frost with your favorite frosting. I used white vanilla frosting and tried to make them look like soft serve cones. It totally worked because my nephew came in to have one, picked it up, took a bite and then said, “Hey, I wanted ice cream!”
