Can you feel it in the air?? Are you as excited as I am? Just 3 days until Christmas! Our Christmas treats are made and delivered, school is out and now it’s time to put the finishing touches on our celebration plans. We started off our weekend with some fun Santa pancakes for breakfast. Yesterday I shared the cute snowmen pretzels I found in the Taste of Home Kid-Approved Cookbook and that’s also where I found these jolly ol’ elves.
Santa Pancakes
Mix up your favorite pancake recipe and pour batter onto a greased hot griddle in a long oval shape. Turn when bubbles form on top and cook until golden brown.
For Santa’s twinkling eyes, place two banana slices on each pancake and top with chocolate chips. Cut a banana slice in half and place on each side of the pancake for the ears. Remove a cherry from the pie filling and place in the center of the pancake for his cherry (of course) nose. Spoon 1/2 C of pie filling to top half of pancake for the hat.
And then comes the FUN part! Use the whipped cream to spray the beard, hat brim and pom-pom.
Of course my boys’ favorite part was “shaving” Santa and then letting him grow more hair. The probably would have done that all day if I hadn’t made them eat their pancakes too.
These Santa pancakes definitely helped to get us even more excited for the arrival of our very favorite elf. Do you have any fun Christmas morning traditions? What is your favorite thing to make for Christmas morning breakfast?
