As a dad, you want to connect with your son, but finding the right questions to ask and getting your son to open up can be a bit tricky. Maybe your son doesn’t like to share about his day, or maybe you feel as though you are failing in your attempts to start and carry on conversations with him.
A Father and His Son, A Shared Journal Adventure, is full of simple and fun prompts to help guide the conversations with your son while you have a lot of fun learning about each other.
Think about it. Have you ever asked your son about his day? What was his response? In my home, it is the same scenario every day. My boys come home from school. I ask them about their day and I typically get one of two replies: It was “good” or “fine.” Sometimes I only hear a grumble. And as my boys run off to build, climb, or destroy, I’m left wondering how things are really going for them. Boys, in general, have a hard time opening up about the little details of their lives. And sometimes we might feel a bit guilty when our busy lives get in the way or building a strong connection with them. Afterall, we want them to WANT to come to us when they have questions, problems or just need a chat. But building that type of relationship can take time, and this journal can help.
Think about the relationship you want with your son.
Wouldn’t it be amazing if you could:
• Get more than a one-word answer to your questions
• Know that your son trusts you enough to come to you with his struggles, questions and problems, as well as his successes and the exciting moments in his life
• Feel that you are preparing your son for adulthood as only a father can
A Father and His Son Journal was designed to make those wants a reality for you and your son all while having fun together.
