Last week I was invited by the SITS girls to come and check out the new Graco SnugRide® Click Connect™ 40 car seat. I got to meet some really fun Vegas blogger moms and learned so much about this new car seat and about car seat safety for babies in general. All I can say is that I wish that this was available with all of my other boys.
This event came at the perfect time for me because I took Baby C to the doctor just the day before the event, and found out that he is already too BIG for his current car seat and he is only 9 months old! I had the same dilemma with my other boys and ended up buying car seat after car seat as they grew. The great thing about the SnugRide® Click Connect™ 40 is it should be the only car seat you will need from ages 0-2yrs old. Awesome!
One thing that I didn’t know is that the American Academy of Pediatrics is now recommending that babies stay rear facing for up to 2 years and that toddlers are more than 5 times safer in a rear facing car seat. Who knew?? But, the main problem I thought I would have with this news is that their little legs would be so squished facing backwards. It just didn’t seem practical or even possible to me to keep them facing backwards that long. But the great thing about this carseat is that the base adjusts and actually can slide backwards into 8 recline positions to give the baby/toddler more leg room. Problem solved!
Well, then I was worried about the car seat actually fitting in my mini-van if it can move back so far but I’ve tried it out and it fits perfectly. There is even a little foot rest for their little feet so they don’t beat the heck out of the back of the seat of your car.
A couple of other things I loved were the fact that the shoulder straps and headrest can be adjusted by just pulling a latch on the back and sliding them up. No need to rethread everything! If you have ever dealt with a lot of car seats you’ll know that rethreading is THE biggest pain in the bottom! This was a HUGE plus for me. When I received the car seat it was in the lowest setting for a newborn. It took me literally 2 seconds to adjust it to fit C.
And also, this car seat comes with so much padding for babies and especially newborns. I was REALLY wishing I had this when C was born. He would have been so nice and cozy in it and I never felt that he was comfortable in his other one. You can tell he was very comfy on our first trip out running errands. It put him right out!
Thank you Emily from Family and Life in Las Vegas and the SITS girls for setting up and hosting the event! I had a great time meeting you all and I LOVE the car seat!
Disclaimer:The Graco SnugRide® Click Connect™ 40– the first and only newborn to two-year infant car seat that actually grows with your baby from four pounds all the way up to 40 pounds. The car seat is designed for a parent on the go. The infant car seat can be easily removed from the base and used as a carrier when the infant is small, providing portability and convenience so you can easily move your infant in and out of the car without disturbing them. The American Academy of Pediatrics recently made the recommendation to keep all children in rear-facing car seats until the age of 2. Graco set out to make this product so parents can keep infants rear facing longer while still keeping them comfortable. This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Graco. The opinions and text are all mine.
