We love making yummy treats for Thanksgiving and these Acorn Donuts were super easy to make and fun to eat!
Acorn Donuts
We love getting together with family over the holidays. We love the enjoying each other’s company as well as letting the cousins run around and have fun. I’m always looking for fun things to do with the kids and our kids had a blast making these Acorn Donuts!
Making food art with my kids is one of my favorite things to do. I like getting them familiar with being in a kitchen as well as allowing them to use their creativity to create something fun. They loved making Turkey Pancakes and turkey cookies with me and this was a fun recipe to add to our list.
Supplies needed for Acorn Donuts
There are only four things you need to make these cute acorn donuts:
- donut holes from a local bakery or make your own
- chocolate chips
- Toffee baking bits
- Stick pretzels.
To make acorn donuts, melt the chocolate chips in the microwave until melted and smooth. Make sure not to overheat or the chocolate will get hard.
Once the chocolate is at the right consistency, dip the top of the donut hole in to the chocolate and then directly place it into a bowl with Toffee bits.
Break a pretzel in to pieces and insert it into the top of the acorn and you are finished! How is that for an easy holiday treat?
These were a hit with all of the cousins and adults at Thanksgiving and they literally took just seconds to make!
Do you have a fun Thanksgiving tradition you do with your kids?
