The point of the challenge isn’t to be a “perfect” mom (by the way, they don’t exist). The point of this challenge is to take small steps each day toward building a strong relationship with your son.
We’re are at the end of our challenge! Can you believe it?
Today I want to talk about how our sons feel loved. Kids spell love- T I M E. They feel our love best when we spend time with them.
Today, let your son be the star! What is something that your son loves? Is there that one thing that he talks constantly about or wants to spend ALL of his time doing?
Does he have a hobby or talent that he thrives at?
Today’s challenge is simple. Spend TIME doing something that your SON loves.
Too often we try to push them into things that WE want them to enjoy, and while we should encourage them to try new things, we should also take the time to learn about the things they are already passionate about.
It might be a sport or a musical instrument. Maybe he is really into Minecraft and you don’t have a clue. Does he like to build things? Draw things? Play video games?
Find one thing and ask HIM to teach you all about it while you do it together.
This is not only a great way to bond with your son, but also a wonderful way to help his confidence grow!
When our sons see that we are interested in spending time doing the types of things they enjoy, they will be more likely to want to spend time with us in other ways.
If your son likes science, here are a few simple science projects he can take the lead on.
If he loves LEGO, these 60 second LEGO challenges are so fun to do together!
If he is great at a sport, play it together, even if YOU aren’t that great at it.
Set aside some time today to spend enjoying your son’s interests. You might surprise him when you tell him you want to participate. Our sons are so amazing and we are often too busy to even see their growing talents and abilities.
What did you do together? I’d love to hear how you let your son’s interests shine as you spent time together. Post in the Facebook group and let us know and be entered into the giveaway for this fun mother/son journal.
As our challenge week comes to a close, I hope you have discovered how simple actions can start to create a strong relationship with your son.
In the next email, we will wrap up this challenge and let you know of some fun ways to keep these special bonding moments going.
