I’m sure you are familiar with Rice Krispie Treats, but did you know you can use that same recipe, or variations of it, to make all sorts of yummy marshmallow crispy treats? These Chocolate Marshmallow Crispy Treats are simple enough for kids to make them (with supervision of course) and can be made in minutes, making them perfect for when you need a last minute treat.
Have you ever signed up to bring treats to a school or church function and then forgotten about it until last minute? That is where these Chocolate Marshmallow Crispy treats and Fruity Marshmallow treats come in handy. These treats only use three ingredients and are a quick switch up of the norm.
Ingredients needed:
- 1 Stick (1/2 Cup) of butter
- 1 16 oz bag mini-marshmallows
- 7 Cups Chocolate cereal such as Cocoa Pebbles or Cocoa Dinobites.
Cut the butter into smaller squares and add to sauce pan or microwave-safe bowl. Add the marshmallows and melt over medium heat or in the microwave while stirring frequently.
Once the marshmallows are mostly melted, stir in the chocolate cereal and mix until completely coated.
Press into a buttered 9×13 pan. Allow to cool and then cut into squares. I actually like to double this recipe and then use a cookie sheet instead of a 9×13 pan because you can never have too many Chocolate marshmallow crispy treats, right? 😉 These store really well in air-tight containers and will stay nice and soft for a few days as long as you don’t leave them out.
My boys like to rotate between chocolate treats and Fruity crispy treats. You’ll have to try both and let me know which one is your favorite.
If you had to choose between regular, chocolate or fruity crispy treats, which ones would you choose?
