We celebrated my son’s birthday with week with Minecraft Cupcakes.  If your boys are anything like mine then Minecraft is an every day part of life.  Of all of the video games that my boys like to play, Minecraft is one that I actually don’t mind as much because of the creative things that they build.  

With my son turning 9, I knew that a Minecraft Birthday Party would be the perfect fit. I still have a lot to learn about Minecraft but I do know that Creepers are a huge part of the game and you want to avoid them at all costs or they will destroy everything you have built.  We decided to make creeper cupcakes because they were really easy to do and we like easy!

How to Make Minecraft Cupcakes

These Minecraft cupcakes are easy to make and I’m a huge believer in being able to do fun things that my kids will love, without losing my mind or spending a huge amount of time.

Supplies needed (affiliate links included):

• Your favorite cake mix and vanilla frosting
• Green Food Coloring
• Black M&M’s Candy

Begin by baking your favorite cupcakes.  If you are using a cake mix, bake according to the directions on the box.

Allow cupcakes to cool and then mix green food coloring into your favorite vanilla frosting until desired color of green.  It doesn’t have to be too dark.  Then all that is left to do is create the Creepers.  My boys had fun making their own cupcakes.  Arrange the black M&Ms in the shape of the creeper face. Now, if only the M&Ms were square they would look more like an actual creeper, but my boys loved these so that is all that matters to me.
