If your boys are like mine, Minecraft is one of the only things they talk about. It is a HUGE deal in our house so naturally Minecraft Snowflakes would be a big hit.
Minecraft Snowflakes
You know, I have a confession to make. I really don’t know all that much about Minecraft. I know, major boy-mom fail!! But the one thing that I do know is that my boys would play and build on Minecraft 24 hours/day every single day of the week if I let them and a big portion of our conversations revolve around Minecraft. And I love that Minecraft is a great way for them to use their imaginations and build some pretty amazing things. When I came across this Minecraft Snowflakes tutorial, I knew that we had to make them!
We love making snowflakes and the Star Wars Snowflakes we made two years ago are still one of our favorite things to make each Christmas. It is hard to find crafty type things that my older boys will enjoy so that is one of the reasons that I love these Minecraft Snowflakes so much. They weren’t terribly difficult to make and my oldest boys could do them without help from me.
The only supplies needed are paper, scissors and an Xacto Knife and this Minecraft Snowflake Tutorial. The tutorial a great job of explaining how to make these, although it took me a couple of tries to figure out how to get the folding correct but once we figure it out, these were a lot of fun to make. The sword snowflake is a bit easier for younger kids since it doesn’t require as much cutting with the Xacto knife but the Creeper snowflake was a little more intense. My oldest is 11 and was able to do it on his own but the other boys were not. And of course, kids should never use an xacto knife unsupervised.
Are your kids as into Minecraft as mine are?
