One year for Christmas, Santa brought my older boys a foldable/storable LEGO table and it has had constant use since then. But, the saying, “Two’s company, three’s a crowd” tends to apply with my three oldest boys and my younger boys were feeling a bit left out. So, Santa did not disappoint and brought them their very own LEGO tables. If you are looking for a DIY LEGO Table, this is easy to make!
DIY LEGO Table
I love giving unique gifts to my boys. This DIY LEGO table made from a breakfast tray, gets constant use at our house.
How to make a DIY LEGO Table
These are really easy to make. All you need is a Breakfast Bed Tray, three LEGO base plates and some E6000 craft glue or other strong adhesive.
You can get everything you need to make your DIY LEGO table here:

Use an X-Acto knife to cut the base plates to fit the table. Two of the LEGO plates only needed to be trimmed a little bit and then the third was cut to fill in the remaining area. Then, use LEGO pieces to get the correct spacing of all of the pieces before gluing. You will want to do this to make sure that the breaks line up correctly.
The only thing left to do is glue it down. Turn the pieces over altogether as one large piece and cover in glue. Turn it back over and glue it down. Set something heavy on top of it until the glue dries.
It’s so easy to make and I love this table because it has the legs that can fold down as well as the handles so he can pack around all of his creations and share them with everyone. He also likes to use his table as his “desk” when he’s not building LEGO sets so it has more than one use.
Do you have any LEGO fanatics in your house? This would make the perfect gift and is very inexpensive and easy to make.

I love, love, love this! I need two of them- one for each! You make it seems easy- thanks for sharing!
Thanks Sky! They are easy to make, I promise. 😉 They’d be a piece of cake for you!
Oh how cool! I have no doubt I’ll be doing this in the future!
Thanks Emily! They are so easy to make and you can even have one for each of your boys so there is no fighting. 😉
What size Lego base plates did you use for this? There are 10×10 and 15×15 on Amazon. We are making two for our boys. Also the small little gaps between the base plates in the pictures are those still there once you glue it on the table. I jist wanna make sure I don’t mess them up Lol
Hi Ashley, We used the 10X10 base plates. I’ve updated the post to link to the ones we used, but any 10X10 base plates will work. ALso, the gaps are there because that was the space it took to be able to connect LEGO across the plates. So you will want to use some LEGO pieces to hold the plates in place across the gap while the glue dries so that your kids can place LEGO anywhere on the table. If the gap isn’t right, then they might not be able to attach to the table. I hope that makes sense!! Good luck!
Oh, you are a lifesaver, This evening my friend gave me a tray like you show and I was wondering what to do with it. I will be making one of these, It will be a great item to put in my booth for Santa to take to some lucky child.
So glad you like it! My boys have had so much fun with this LEGO table.
What is the safest glue to use in order to glue the base plates to wood?
Thank You,
Tonjia
