One of our favorite snacks is popcorn and growing up my mom would make the yummiest, gooiest, non-sticky Marshmallow Caramel Popcorn. I am not a fan of hard or crunchy caramel popcorn. I like it soft and wanted to share this yummy treat with my boys.
Marshmallow Caramel Popcorn
There are many caramel popcorn recipes out there but this one for Marshmallow Caramel Popcorn can be made in just minutes using only 4 ingredients. This is perfect to make for family movie night or for my boys to take with them when they head into one of their awesome blanket forts. Since this recipe is not sticky, I don’t have to worry about sticky fingers and the mess is minimal.
Ingredients needed:
- 30 Large Marshmallows
- 1 Cup Butter
- 1 Cup Brown Sugar
- 2 bags microwave popcorn popped or one large bowl of air-popped popcorn
- Chocolate candy or candy bars of your choice (optional)
Step 1: Melt the marshmallows, butter and brown sugar together in a pan until smooth.
Step 2: While those are melting, prepare your popcorn and add it to a big bowl.
Step 3: When marshmallow mixture is smooth pour it over the popcorn, stirring as you go. This is much easier if you have a helper then one person can stir while one pours. I didn’t have help and it still turned out yummy.
Step 4: Mix in M&Ms or cut up candy bars.
Step 5: Serve immediately or store in an air-tight container.
This Marshmallow Caramel popcorn was a fun surprise for my boys when they got home from school yesterday and it can be stored for quite awhile in an air-tight storage container. This is now one of my boys’ favorite recipes.
