How fun are these Mummy pizzas? Mummy pizzas have become a Halloween family tradition that my boys can’t live without.
Mummy Pizza
Welcome to October, the spookiest month of the year. We always get to start our October off with my oldest son’s birthday. 14 years ago I became a mommy. I cannot believe it has been that long! My grandpa always joked about pregnant women having the “Egyptian Flu” because it would turn them into a “mummy”. So what more perfect dinner to celebrate my becoming a “Mummy” than mummy pizza! (I miss grandpa and his jokes. )
Most every year my son has had some sort of Halloween cake on his birthday. In the past I’ve made him a Haunted House cake and a cool Spider Cake. But this year he told me he didn’t need any sort of a theme cake. I think I shed a few silent tears when he told me that. Everyone knows that I love coming up with easy cake ideas but, I’m sad to report, my son is now too old for fun cakes. (I’m sure it’s just a phase right?) But he couldn’t stop me from making mummy pizza for dinner. 😉
This is the EASIEST pizza you can possibly make. French Bread Pizza! Perfect.
How to Make Mummy Pizza
The only ingredients you need are:
- 1 Loaf of French Bread
- 1 Jar of Pizza Sauce
- Your favorite pizza toppings. We used Pepperoni
- Mozzarella Cheese
- 2 sliced olives for eyes
Step 1: Slice the French bread down the center and cover with pizza sauce. Add any additional toppings you like such as pepperoni, ham, olives, mushrooms, etc. (You’ll want to put this on under the cheese for the mummies.
Step 2: Slice Mozzarella cheese into thin slices and then cut into strips to look like bandages.
Step 3: Add 2 sliced olives for eyes.
Step 4: Broil on high in oven until cheese is melted and pizza is heated through. Typically around 5 or so minutes is all it takes depending on your oven temperature.
